Gratitude is a Lifestyle

Many people tell themselves that they will be grateful for everything they have once they get what they want in life. Many don’t have the time to be grateful because they’re so busy chasing their dreams. Gratitude is about more than just saying “Thank you”. It is also about following your dreams whilst always keeping in sight the blessings you currently enjoy. Even if you don’t have everything you want, you have a lot to be grateful for.

You will always want or need certain things in life. This is a reality and there is nothing wrong with wanting a better job,more money, a fitter body etc. There is an issue though with becoming so fixated on getting hold of something you want that you lose sight of everything and everyone you have in your life until you get it. It may be finding a suitable spouse or getting that job you’ve always wanted; just don’t let it control (the operative word being control) your emotions, cloud your vision and by extension, your life. There just isn’t enough time to lead a clouded life.

I’m not saying you should not have goals or dreams. I’m saying you shouldn’t allow a goal/desire to control your life. We have so much more than we usually take the time to acknowledge. It is only when we see those who have less than us or when we lose a blessing that we begin to appreciate it. Take some time to shift your vision from the thing/s you want to the people and things you currently have in your life. Be grateful for these as well, your loved ones won’t be around forever & neither will you.

If you look closely you will find that you will always be blessed with everything and everyone you need to lead an extraordinary life.
