Random Thoughts on Meaningful Work

  • Every day ask yourself, “If I die today, am I happy with the work I’ve done so far?”
  • Build a body of work that bears testimony to your life’s purpose. When others look at it, they must see that you are a driven, dedicated, committed, focused individual.
  • Don’t be afraid of doing the things that everyone else shies away from.
  • It doesn’t matter if people think your creative habits are weird. If they work for you; that’s perfect.
  • Your work must answer the question: What will you leave behind as an indication of the fact that you’ve lived a full life?
  • All man-made rules were made by people like you and I. Their knowledge was not perfect and they certainly couldn’t see into the future. Don’t be afraid to question the status quo. Be comfortable with departing from whatever it is that’s considered mainstream.
  • Titles aren’t as important as people make them out to be.
  • Every single day must take you even a little bit closer to your ultimate goals.
  • Remember that there’s no time and you’re not going to be here forever – That’s all the motivation you’ll ever need.
