The People Holding You Back
The type of people you surround yourself with is a good indicator of the type of person you’re becoming. As a rule, mix with people who will challenge you to live a better version of your life; the version you dream of but never get around to achieving.
One ‘secret’ of super-achievers is their ability to find and then associate with people who are leading focused, meaningful, productive, happy lives. When you choose your company, don’t mix with:
1.People who aren’t Leading Focused Lives
Regardless of how focused you are, if you spend enough time around people who have no idea where their lives are going, you’re going to lose any interest you had in finding your life’s purpose. Connect yourself to driven, motivated people who will put your own life into perspective for you.
Seek-out companions who have recognised their purpose and found their life’s passion. People who are driven by courage, dedication and commitment.
2. People who Waste Time & Valuable Resources
Time-wasters only help push your dreams further away. Time is a finite resource. When you give your time to somebody, you’re actually giving them a portion of your life. Be careful who give your time to; you can never buy it back.
Similarly, someone who doesn’t see the need to value health and other valuable resources is going to cause you to waste the blessings you have in your life. To become a productive person you need to spend some time with someone who is a master time-manager. Very soon, the desire to value time, health and other important resources will cause you to start living your life in a way that brings you fulfillment and constant progress.
3. People who Complain but Don’t Act
Complaining is just a way to evade responsibility. It gets you nowhere near a solution and helps to further entrench the problem. If you want to succeed in life, you’ve got to make it a point not to waste your life complaining about issues you have no control over and issues you intend doing nothing about.
People who complain will only teach you to make mediocrity a constant factor in your life. They are sub-consciously encouraging you to do nothing about your problems.
You owe it to yourself to lead a life you can be proud of!
